IIE DIGITAL DESK : The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has officially announced that the results for the 2025 Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinations will be declared tomorrow, May 7, 2025, at 12:30 PM. The announcement will be made during a press conference at Vidyasagar Bhavan in Salt Lake, Kolkata. Following the press briefing, students will be able to access their results online from 2:00 PM onwards through various official portals, including wbresults.nic.in, wbchse.wb.gov.in, and result.wb.gov.in. Additionally, the DigiLocker platform and the WBCHSE Results app, available on the Google Play Store, will also host the results. To view their results, students will need to enter their roll number and date of birth.
This year, approximately 509,000 students appeared for the Higher Secondary examinations across 2,089 centers in West Bengal. The exams were conducted from March 3 to March 18, 2025. The results will be announced 50 days after the completion of the examinations. Notably, this will be the final Higher Secondary examination under the annual exam system, with future batches transitioning to a semester-based system starting from the academic year 2025–2026.
For students who wish to obtain hard copies of their mark sheets and pass certificates, these will be distributed to schools on May 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM onwards at 55 designated distribution centers. School authorities have been instructed to ensure the distribution of these documents to students on the same day.
In addition to the announcement of results, WBCHSE will also release key statistics, including the number of students registered, those who appeared and passed, the overall pass percentage, and the list of top performers.
Following the release of results, WBCHSE will open a window for re-evaluation and scrutiny applications for students who wish to have their answer scripts reviewed. Details regarding the supplementary exams for those who fail in one or more subjects will be announced soon on the board's official website.
Students are advised to keep their roll number and date of birth handy to access their results online. It is also recommended to download and take a printout of the result for future reference. However, students should note that the online result is provisional, and the original mark sheets and pass certificates will be available at their respective schools after the distribution on May 8.
The declaration of the Higher Secondary examination results marks a significant milestone for students, parents, and educational institutions in West Bengal. As the state transitions to a semester-based system, the 2025 results will serve as a benchmark for future assessments and educational reforms
