Both actors have massive fan followings, and their respective supporters occasionally engage in heated debates on social media. Yet, away from the noise of fan wars, Dev and Jeet have consistently maintained mutual respect and warmth. Their latest interaction has once again demonstrated that the rivalry created by sections of their fan bases does not reflect the personal relationship between the two popular stars.

The two actors have worked together only once in their long careers, in the film Dui Prithibi. Although they have not appeared together in another film since then, their friendship and mutual respect have apparently remained intact. Dev recently offered another public demonstration of that bond when he turned up for a special screening of Jeet’s latest film, Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat.

The episode began after the release of Jeet’s film, when a fan page associated with Dev reportedly posted a critical comment about the actor. Dev did not approve of the remark and publicly opposed such behaviour. Rather than allowing the situation to develop into another fan-driven controversy, Dev made it clear that he respected Jeet and did not support personal attacks against his fellow actor.

Dev referred to Jeet affectionately as his “big brother” and explained that he had been unable to watch the film immediately because of his busy schedule. However, he promised that he would watch it soon. The actor did not stop at making the statement. He subsequently kept his word by attending a special screening of the film.

Dev arrived at the screening accompanied by his parents, and his presence naturally became one of the major talking points of the event. His decision to watch Jeet’s film was seen as a strong gesture of support, particularly in the context of the recent social media controversy involving fans of the two stars.

Before watching the film, Dev was seen alongside director Pathikrit, where he spoke positively about the movie. The release of Jeet’s Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat has also affected Dev’s own release plans. Dev has reportedly postponed the release of his upcoming film Bike Ambulance Dada following the arrival of Jeet’s film in theatres. The Dev-starrer is now expected to arrive in December.

Another film connected to Dev’s upcoming release calendar is Tonic 2. The film had been expected to release around the same period, but Dev has indicated that its release could now be pushed to next year.

For Bengali film audiences, the latest episode involving Dev and Jeet has therefore become more than just another celebrity appearance. It has offered a glimpse into the personal respect shared by two of the industry’s biggest stars while also sending a message against unnecessary fan rivalries.
