IIE DIGITAL: Samantha Ruth Prabhu has revealed how she chose to break away from stereotypical and gender-oriented action stories but admitted without mincing words that releasing this movie wasn’t an easy feat. She further disclosed that the movie is of great importance to her due to the fact that Raj Nidimoru wore a dual hat of producing and writing the story of the movie.

Talking about her recently released movie Maa Inti Bangaaram, Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared that it was due to the strength of the character that she decided to be a part of the film and not because of any attempt towards breaking the genre stereotypes. She clarified her standpoint on the portrayal of women in films by saying, “What drew me to the story, I really wasn't looking at it as genre-breaking or trying to make a statement. I saw it as this compelling character with real depth and it had a lot of scope to entertain and I feel that's really rare, especially for women in cinema. Also, I think that the action is not really a spectacle and I think that it's about time that we stop putting women in cinema just for the spectacle, just for the dance or a song or a role, just for the spectacle.”

Samantha also pointed out that audiences now are much more appreciative of innovative and original storytelling than before. As stated by the actress, people do not really care whether the film stars a male or female protagonist, rather they enjoy movies whose content can entertain and move them as emotionally. In particular, she said, "I feel that audiences have changed; they are now much more open to new stories, and they do not care whether the hero is a male or female. All that they want is to be entertained; all that they want is to be moved. When a character is written authentically, and the story touches, then audiences will love it, and I feel that this is the way of future mainstream movies, and I am happy to be a part of it."

The movie Maa Inti Bangaaram is directed by B.V.Nandini Reddy and supported by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru and Himank Reddy Duvvuru of Tralala Moving Pictures. This movie stars Samantha, Gulshan Devaiah & Diganth Manchale play important roles in this movie. Post the release of the movie, the movie has been well received by both the critics and the audience while the movie collected an impressive Rs 4.85 crore in its first day itself.
