IIE DIGITAL DESK : West Asia following Israeli strikes on Iran reportedly backed by the United States, New Delhi has issued a fresh advisory urging Indian nationals residing in Israel to remain vigilant, cautious and prepared for emergencies. The advisory comes in the wake of intensified military action that has triggered air raid sirens, explosions and heightened security alerts across the region.

The Ministry of External Affairs has advised all Indian citizens currently living in Israel to stay alert and strictly follow safety instructions issued by Israeli authorities. In a statement shared through official communication channels, the government emphasized the importance of remaining near designated shelters and being aware of the nearest secure locations both at home and at workplaces. Citizens have been asked to identify the closest bomb shelters and safe zones and to keep themselves informed about emergency protocols.

The advisory follows reports that Israel launched strikes on Iranian targets from Saturday morning, escalating an already fragile regional security situation. Iran has responded with strong warnings, stating that it would retaliate decisively. Multiple explosions were reported in Tehran, the capital of Iran, with local media indicating that warning sirens sounded in several parts of the city. Civilians were urged to move to safer locations as tensions rose.

In Israel, precautionary measures have also intensified. The Israeli Defence Forces’ Home Front Command has alerted residents to remain prepared and stay close to protective shelters. In Tel Aviv and other major cities, emergency preparedness systems have been activated amid fears of potential retaliatory action. The Israeli Defence Minister, Israel Katz, stated that the operation was launched in anticipation of possible threats and framed it as an act of self-defence.

The situation gained further international attention after Donald Trump confirmed that American forces were involved in operations targeting Iran. Earlier, the United States had asked certain embassy personnel to leave Israel as a precautionary measure. These developments have added to concerns about the possibility of broader regional conflict.

In its advisory, India stressed that citizens should avoid unnecessary travel within Israel until further notice. They have been directed to monitor local news broadcasts, official government announcements and emergency alerts closely. The Indian authorities have also maintained close contact with Israeli officials to ensure real-time information sharing and to provide assistance if required.

India has a sizeable expatriate community in Israel, including professionals, caregivers, students and businesspersons. Ensuring their safety has become a priority amid the volatile security environment. The government has assured that additional guidelines will be issued as the situation evolves. Diplomatic channels remain active, and Indian missions in the region are monitoring developments closely.

The sudden escalation has underscored the fragile security balance in the Middle East. Explosions in Tehran and precautionary alerts in Tel Aviv highlight the potential for rapid deterioration. For Indian nationals in Israel, the immediate focus remains on personal safety, preparedness and adherence to official instructions.

As global leaders watch the unfolding events with concern, India’s advisory reflects both caution and proactive engagement. While diplomatic efforts may continue behind the scenes, for now, the message to Indians in Israel is clear: remain vigilant, stay informed and prioritize safety above all else.
