The three day Seva Setu Abhiyan will begin from Friday, October 2 and continue until October 4. During these three days, residents will have the opportunity to apply for various government welfare schemes and also enquire about the status of applications and benefits under several existing schemes.
According to the information available, around 3,300 Seva Setu camps will be organised across West Bengal at the block and municipal levels. The camps are designed to provide access to as many as 60 different government schemes and services under one roof, making it easier for residents to approach the administration without having to visit multiple government offices.
The camps will remain open from 10 am to 4 pm during the three day programme. A wide range of government schemes will be covered, including both state and central government welfare initiatives.
Among the major schemes and services available through the camps will be the Annapurna Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Sikshashree, Jai Johar, PM Kisan Credit Card and PM Kisan SVANidhi, along with several other public welfare schemes of the central government. Residents can approach the camps to enquire about eligibility, applications and related services under the schemes being covered.
The Seva Setu camps will also distribute fresh application forms for several social security benefits. These include widow pensions, old age pensions and pensions for persons with disabilities. People who are eligible but have not yet applied for these benefits will be able to collect the necessary forms from the camps.
Another important facility available at the camps will be the opportunity to check the status of applications and benefits under the Annapurna Yojana and Ayushman cards. This is expected to help beneficiaries who may be facing difficulties in finding out whether their applications have been approved or whether their benefits have been activated.
Special arrangements are also being made in urban areas. In Kolkata, one Seva Setu Abhiyan camp is being planned for every two wards. In Howrah Municipal Corporation, camps will be organised at 26 locations covering the corporation’s 50 wards.
The initiative is aimed at bringing government services closer to residents and reducing the need for people to travel to different administrative offices for applications and enquiries. Through the camps, beneficiaries will be able to access information and application facilities for multiple schemes at a single location.
Residents who want to find out where the nearest Seva Setu Abhiyan camp is being organised can check the designated government website mentioned for the programme. They can also contact the helpline numbers 1800 345 0117 and 033-2214 0152 to obtain information about the location of the camp serving their area.
With the camps beginning from October 2 and continuing until October 4, residents who are yet to receive benefits under schemes such as Annapurna Yojana or those looking to apply for welfare programmes can use the three day window to approach the designated camps, enquire about their eligibility and complete the necessary application or verification process.
