Dilip Ghosh, the former Member of Parliament from Medinipur and ex-President of the West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is set to marry Rinku Majumdar, a fellow party member, at the age of 60. The wedding is scheduled to take place at Ghosh's residence in New Town, Kolkata, on Friday, April 18, 2025.
Sources close to Ghosh indicated that he had not been inclined towards marriage previously. However, after his defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Majumdar proposed the idea, which Ghosh accepted. A significant moment in their relationship occurred on April 3, when they attended an IPL match at Eden Gardens with Majumdar's family, solidifying their decision to marry.
The wedding ceremony is expected to be intimate, with a limited guest list. Ghosh's mother has traveled from their ancestral village, Gopiballavpur, to attend the event. Despite some reservations from certain members of the Sangh Parivar, Ghosh has remained firm in his decision to marry.
This development marks a significant personal milestone for Ghosh, who has been a prominent figure in West Bengal politics and the RSS for several decades. His decision to marry at this stage in his life has garnered attention and sparked discussions within political circles.
