IIE DIGITAL: Sai Pallavi has shared an emotional insight into her portrayal of Goddess Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited Ramayana, describing the role as a divine blessing rather than a professional achievement. Speaking during the film’s special trailer screening at Bharat Mandapam on July 18, the actress said portraying one of the most revered figures in Indian mythology demanded not just preparation, but unwavering faith. Recalling her journey, Sai Pallavi said she never believed she had "chosen" the role. Instead, she felt the opportunity had come to her through divine grace.

“I don’t think I chose to play Sita Maa. I was blessed to play this role,” she said.

The actress revealed that meditation became an essential part of her preparation. Before stepping in front of the camera, she would spend time in prayer, seeking spiritual guidance instead of relying solely on acting techniques.

“Sita Maa, you act through me. Whatever comes through me is what you want for the film,” Sai Pallavi shared, explaining that she wanted her performance to be an honest reflection of the character rather than her own interpretation.

She added that she consciously worked to keep her thoughts pure and her mind calm throughout the filming process, believing that inner discipline and humility helped her embody the essence of Sita with sincerity.

Director Nitesh Tiwari praised the dedication of both Sai Pallavi and Ranbir Kapoor, saying their performances reflected the true spirit of the legendary characters they portray.

“An actor’s eyes tell the truth. I have seen Ram in Ranbir’s eyes and Sita in Sai’s,” the filmmaker said, applauding their emotional honesty and commitment.

The Ramayana team offered audiences an exclusive first look at the trailer during the Bharat Mandapam event, while the official trailer is scheduled to premiere globally at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 on July 24, raising anticipation for one of Indian cinema’s biggest releases.
