IIE DIGITAL DESK : Motorola has revealed exciting new additions to its smartphone lineup as it gears up for launches in 2026 with premium and mid-range models targeting both tech enthusiasts and everyday users. At the recently held Mobile World Congress and through upcoming India launch events, the company showcased its first foldable device along with a powerful new Edge series phone, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion

The much-anticipated foldable model, the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra successor and future flagship, has been officially launched in global markets, making waves for its 8.1-inch unfolding display and high-end hardware. The Razr Fold features a large internal screen with smooth visuals, powered by a top-tier processor and a substantial 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery designed for long usage, alongside 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support. This new foldable also boasts an advanced camera system with multiple high-resolution sensors, establishing Motorola as a serious competitor in the premium foldable phone space.

Alongside the foldable model, Motorola is preparing to launch the Edge 70 Fusion in India on March 6, 2026, with sales expected through major e-commerce platforms like Flipkart. The new Edge 70 Fusion is positioned as a compelling mid-range smartphone with standout features that appeal to both performance-focused buyers and everyday users seeking value.

At the heart of the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and generous storage options. It runs on Android 16 for a modern and smooth mobile experience. The phone sports a large 6.78-inch Quad-Curved Extreme AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a high 144 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness exceeding 5000 nits, delivering sharp visuals and vibrant colours ideal for gaming and media consumption.

The camera setup on the Edge 70 Fusion includes a 50 MP primary Sony LYT-710 sensor backed by a 13 MP ultra-wide camera, allowing users to capture wide landscapes and high-quality shots in various lighting conditions. A 32 MP front camera handles selfies and video calls, with support for up to 4K video recording for crisp content creation.

Battery life is a major highlight, as the smartphone packs a large 7000 mAh battery with 68 W fast charging support, designed to keep users going through heavy usage without frequent recharges. The handset also offers stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, enhancing entertainment experiences.

Motorola offers the Edge 70 Fusion in three curated colour choices with premium “leather-inspired” finishes, adding a stylish touch to its modern design. The phone also has IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance and MIL-STD-810H certification, suggesting a rugged build suitable for everyday use.

While official Indian pricing will be confirmed at launch, early listings and industry teasers indicate a competitive price range in the mid-premium segment, with variants expected to start near the ₹25,999 to ₹32,990 bracket depending on configuration.

With the launch of both the foldable Razr model and the Edge 70 Fusion, Motorola appears focused on expanding its presence across different market segments. The foldable device pushes the brand into the high-end tech space, while the Edge 70 Fusion promises a well-rounded experience for mainstream users seeking robust performance, premium display quality, and long battery life.
