IIE DIGITAL: After months of anticipation, filmmaker Srijit Mukherji has finally offered audiences a first look at 'Winkle Twinkle', his big-screen adaptation of Bratya Basu's iconic political play. The teaser, released ahead of the film's September 4 theatrical debut, hints at a deeply personal story shaped by politics, time and fractured relationships.

Rather than retelling a conventional political drama, the film follows the emotional journey of Sabyasachi, an uncompromising revolutionary who disappears under mysterious circumstances. When he unexpectedly returns home after two decades, he finds himself in a world that no longer resembles the one he left behind.

The biggest shock awaits him within his own family. His son, Indra, has embraced a political ideology that stands in direct opposition to everything Sabyasachi once fought for. Their reunion soon transforms into a battle of beliefs, reflecting how changing times can reshape both society and personal relationships.

The teaser blends emotionally charged moments with political symbolism, suggesting a narrative that goes beyond party politics to examine identity, conviction and the widening ideological gap between generations.

The film features an ensemble cast led by Ritwick Chakraborty and Parambrata Chattopadhyay, alongside Angana Roy, Anasuya Majumdar, Debesh Chattopadhyay and Rajatava Dutta.
