IIE DIGITAL: After creating a buzz across social media, reports claiming that Katrina Kaif would be seen alongside Prabhas in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming action thriller Spirit have now been dismissed. The speculation had created excitement among fans who were hoping to witness Katrina’s return to Telugu cinema after a long gap. However, recent clarification from sources close to the film has confirmed that the reports are not true.

The rumours suggested that Katrina Kaif was being considered for a key role opposite Prabhas, with some reports even claiming that she might make a special appearance in the much-awaited project. However, industry insiders have now rejected these claims, stating that there is no connection between Katrina and the film at present.

A source close to the project clarified that the reports were based only on speculation and lacked any official confirmation. The statement has effectively ended the ongoing discussions about Katrina’s alleged involvement in Spirit.

The rumours gained attention mainly because fans have been eagerly waiting for Katrina Kaif’s next big-screen appearance. The actress was last seen in Merry Christmas alongside Vijay Sethupathi in 2024. After announcing her pregnancy in 2025 and welcoming her child later that year, Katrina has remained away from acting projects, leading to frequent speculation about her comeback.

The possibility of Katrina sharing screen space with Prabhas in one of the most ambitious action films in Indian cinema had created a wave of excitement among movie lovers. However, with the latest clarification, fans will now have to wait for an official announcement regarding her next project.

Meanwhile, Spirit has been making headlines since its announcement due to constant casting updates and rumours. Several Bollywood names were previously linked to the film, including reports suggesting that Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were being considered for important roles. Another major discussion around the film emerged after reports claimed Deepika Padukone had exited the project due to differences over certain terms. Later, Triptii Dimri was reportedly confirmed as the female lead.

At present, Spirit features Prabhas, Triptii Dimri and Vivek Oberoi in key roles. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the filmmaker known for films like Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh and Animal, the movie is expected to showcase Prabhas in a powerful and intense action-packed avatar.

The makers have announced that Spirit will arrive in theatres worldwide on March 5, 2027. With anticipation building around the project, audiences are now waiting for the first glimpse, teaser and further official updates from the team.
