IIE DIGITAL DESK : West Bengal minister Dilip Ghosh was seen in a relaxed and cheerful mood on Eid morning, marking a break from his usual routine. Like every day, he went for his morning walk, but on this Thursday, he not only engaged in his regular fitness activities but also joined a local “jhalmuri party” with residents, making the occasion more lively and informal. This year, with Eid namaz being held at Brigade Parade Ground instead of Red Road, the minister also reacted to the change in venue and spoke about the issue. He said, “Festivals will always be there, but if they create problems for common people, that cannot be acceptable.”

Dilip Ghosh, known for his regular morning walks at Eco Park when he is in Kolkata, continued the tradition on Eid morning as well. However, this time he was seen sharing light moments with people present at the park, enjoying jhalmuri together and interacting freely with them. The informal gathering quickly turned into a cheerful “jhalmuri party,” where he was seen chatting and engaging in friendly conversations with locals.

It is noteworthy that every year during Eid, Red Road used to be closed for namaz prayers, which often caused inconvenience to the general public due to road blockages. After the change in government, it was stated through an official notification that no religious gathering would be allowed to block public roads. Later, it was reported that this year’s Eid namaz would be held at Brigade Ground instead of Red Road. Commenting on this development, Dilip Ghosh said that festivals of different religions happen throughout the year, but blocking roads every day for such events causes difficulties for common people, which is not desirable at all.
