IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Kolkata, August 5: Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasrin has said that although she wants to return to Bangladesh, there is currently no opportunity for her to go back to her home country. Speaking to reporters at Kolkata airport on Wednesday, Nasrin said the Bangladesh government does not want her to return and that her passport has also not been renewed.

Nasrin made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the airport after arriving in Kolkata. She said she would like to return to Bangladesh, but the present circumstances have made such a return impossible. According to her, the Bangladesh government is not willing to facilitate her return, while the non-renewal of her passport has further complicated the situation.

“I want to return to Bangladesh, but the Bangladesh government does not want me to return,” Nasrin said while explaining her current circumstances. She added that since her passport has not been renewed, she has decided to remain in India for the time being.
