IIE DIGITAL DESK : Mumbai: Celebrating over four decades of marriage, business magnate Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani marked their 41st wedding anniversary with an extraordinary and symbolic culinary creation that has become a highlight of their celebrations. The couple, who tied the knot in 1985, received a five‑tier artistic cake inspired by Nita’s cultural initiative, Swadesh, reflecting India’s rich heritage and craftsmanship.
The elaborate anniversary cake was designed and crafted by Mumbai‑based celebrity pastry chef Bunty Mahajan, founder of the premium patisserie Deliciae, known for catering to elite celebrations and creating bespoke desserts. Commissioned by a close friend of the Ambanis, the cake was thoughtfully themed around Swadesh — a tribute to Indian handlooms, textiles, and traditional artistry. Mahajan incorporated edible elements that mirror the intricate patterns found in Indian carpets and handwoven fabrics, enhanced with flourishes of edible gold dust.
Each tier was adorned with floral motifs and motifs inspired by the lotus, India’s national flower, chosen for its symbolism of purity and resilience in art and mythology. The pastel‑toned layers in shades of blue, green, and pink were topped with an elegant message reading “Happy Anniversary, Dearest Nita and Mukesh”, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to the masterpiece.
Mahajan shared glimpses of the cake’s design and making on social media, describing the creative challenge of translating the Swadesh theme into edible art and reflecting the cultural essence that the couple values. Among well‑wishers and onlookers, reactions ranged from admiration for the craftsmanship to praise for the tribute to India’s artistic traditions.
The anniversary celebration underscores the Ambanis’ penchant for blending grandeur with meaningful motifs, celebrating both personal milestones and India’s cultural legacy in memorable style.
