IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Muzaffarnagar, October 6: Four people were killed and three others injured in a tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar late on Monday night. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep grief over the incident and directed the administration to ensure proper and advanced medical treatment for those injured in the accident.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjay Kumar Verma, the accident took place late Monday night in the Purkazi police station area when a car carrying seven people collided head-on with a dumper on the Laksar State Highway. The impact of the collision left all seven occupants trapped inside the vehicle.

After receiving information about the accident, police immediately reached the spot and began rescue operations. The trapped passengers were taken out of the damaged vehicle and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared four of them dead after examination.

The deceased have been identified as Adesh Goel, 45, his sister Nisha, 35, Rakhi and Nisha’s 14-year-old daughter Shraddha. The three other passengers, who sustained injuries in the accident, have been identified as Adesh’s mother Kusum Devi, his wife Ruby and his niece Vaishnavi, who is Rakhi’s daughter.

The accident has left the family in deep shock, while the incident has also caused concern in the area. Police officials reached the spot soon after the collision and initiated the necessary legal procedures.

Following the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and conveyed his grief over the loss of lives. He also directed the administration to make arrangements for the best possible treatment of the injured and ensure that they receive all necessary medical assistance.

Police have taken the dumper involved in the accident and its driver into custody. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision. Officials are examining the sequence of events and other relevant aspects of the accident as part of the probe.

The tragic incident once again highlights the dangers faced by commuters on highways, particularly in cases involving heavy commercial vehicles. Further details are expected to emerge as the police investigation progresses.
