According to the embassy, Captain Smit remains under close and intensive medical observation as doctors continue to monitor his recovery.

In a statement shared on social media, the Indian Embassy said that the pilot is receiving advanced and the best possible medical care in the UAE. The embassy said that he is recovering steadily and that a noticeable improvement has been observed in his overall condition.
