In a post on X, Tendulkar recalled the lessons he learnt from his father, who was a professor and mentor to many young students. He said his father had taught him that failure was never something to be ashamed of, but cheating could never be justified. According to Tendulkar, society must discourage shortcuts and instead build a culture where sincere effort and integrity are rewarded.

He also acknowledged the frustration of students who work hard but feel that their efforts have not received the recognition they deserve. Tendulkar said such disappointment was understandable and called upon parents, teachers, educational institutions, administrators and society at large to play their part in ensuring that young people remain motivated and hopeful about their future.

The cricket icon further said that India’s youth are filled with energy, ambition and dreams, making them the driving force behind the country’s progress. He expressed confidence that collective efforts could help find meaningful solutions to protect the aspirations and future of the younger generation.

Tendulkar’s comments come after several prominent personalities voiced their concerns over the ongoing student protests. Former India captain Virat Kohli also called for a fair examination system and a future based on merit, urging authorities to take the concerns raised by students seriously and act promptly.

Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra and tennis legend Sania Mirza have also spoken about the issue. While Bindra highlighted how certain concerns transcend differences and affect the entire nation, Mirza stressed the importance of listening to students, reforming the education system and ensuring that violence has no place in society. She also emphasised the collective responsibility to safeguard the future of India’s youth.
