Commonwealth Games Day 3 on Saturday: Complete Schedule, Timings and Every Medal Event Featuring India

IIE DIGITAL DESK ; July 25: The third day of the Commonwealth Games on Saturday promises an action-packed schedule for Indian athletes, with competitors set to participate across multiple disciplines, including artistic gymnastics, lawn bowls, boxing, swimming, para swimming and 3x3 wheelchair basketball. Several Indian athletes will also be in contention for medal events later in the day, depending on their qualification performances.

The day's action begins with Artistic Gymnastics, where the Women's Team Final and Individual Qualification, Subdivision 1 will take place at 2:30 p.m. (IST). India will be represented by Pranati Nayak, Nishka Agarwal, Eshita Rewale and Pratistha Samanta, who will aim to deliver strong performances in both the team competition and the individual qualification rounds.

In Lawn Bowls and Para Lawn Bowls, Indian athletes will return to the greens at 3:50 p.m. (IST) for the Women's Pairs Sectional Match in Section B. The Indian duo of Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki Singh will face Paris Baker and Milika Nathan of Tonga in an important group-stage encounter.

Later in the evening, at 7:30 p.m. (IST), Putul Sonowal will compete in the Men's Singles Sectional Match in Section D, taking on Izzat Zulkeply of Malaysia as India looks to continue its campaign in the discipline.

The Boxing competition begins for India at 4:00 p.m. (IST) with the Men's 60 kg Preliminary Round of 32. Sachin Siwach will step into the ring against Keoma Al-Ahmadiyeh of Canada, seeking to progress to the next stage of the tournament.

Indian swimmers will also be in action during the afternoon session. From 4:20 p.m. (IST) onwards, Dakshin Shashikumar will compete in Heat 3 of the Men's 400-metre Freestyle, while Aryan Nehra will participate in Heat 4 of the same event. Both swimmers will aim to secure qualification for the medal race later in the night.

If they qualify, Dakshin Shashikumar and Aryan Nehra will return for the Men's 400-metre Freestyle Final scheduled for 11:37 p.m. (IST), where medals will be at stake.

Another potential medal opportunity for India comes in the Men's 50-metre Backstroke Final, scheduled for 12:20 a.m. (IST), where Srihari Nataraj will compete, subject to qualification from the earlier rounds.

India will also feature in 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball, with the Women's Pool B match against Wales beginning at 4:35 p.m. (IST). The Indian team comprises Lakshmi Rayannavar, Ritu Irengbam, Reena Gupta and Meenakshi Yadav, who will be looking to make a strong start in the competition.

With athletes competing across a wide range of disciplines and several potential medal events scheduled later in the evening, Day Three of the Commonwealth Games is expected to be a significant one for the Indian contingent as they continue their quest for podium finishes and strong overall performances.
