IIE DIGITAL DESK ; June 3: FIFA has announced that advanced robotic dogs will be deployed to enhance security and make the 2026 FIFA World Cup more technology-driven. These autonomous robotic units will primarily be used to strengthen surveillance at the tournament’s main broadcast center and other key security zones.

FIFA, the robotic dogs will operate continuously, providing 24-hour monitoring throughout the World Cup venues. Equipped with advanced sensors, high-definition cameras, and artificial intelligence (AI) systems, these robotic units are designed to detect suspicious activities and instantly alert human security personnel.

The organization further stated that the robotic dogs will patrol assigned routes while also being deployed in sensitive and high-risk areas for enhanced monitoring. In addition, they will transmit real-time video footage and data, enabling faster decision-making and improving overall security coordination during the tournament.

FIFA emphasized that this initiative is part of a broader plan to increase the use of cutting-edge technology in the 2026 World Cup, aiming to create a safer, smarter, and more efficient event management system.
