Laporta secured an overwhelming mandate from club members, defeating rival candidate Victor Font and earning the responsibility of guiding the Spanish football giants for another five years.

Out of a total of 48,480 votes cast by members, Laporta received a commanding 32,934 votes, which amounted to nearly 70 percent of the total ballots. His closest challenger, Victor Font, managed to secure 14,385 votes. Additionally, 984 ballots were left blank while 177 votes were declared invalid.
