IIE DIGITAL DESK ; June 12: The intense heatwaves gradually transition towards thunderstorms and monsoon showers, the weather has become increasingly unpredictable. While heavy rain is pouring down in the evenings after scorching sunshine throughout the day, neither the heat feels completely gone nor is the rain fully enjoyable. In this humid and sticky climate, experts suggest that certain changes in air conditioner usage are essential to maintain comfort during the monsoon transition period.
Rainy weather, keeping windows and doors tightly closed can trap humidity inside the room, making the environment feel damp, sticky, and suffocating. In such conditions, using the “Dry Mode” of the air conditioner is highly recommended. This mode helps absorb excess moisture from the air, reducing humidity and providing a fresher, more comfortable indoor atmosphere.
Experts also advise maintaining an ideal temperature setting between 24 to 26 degrees Celsius while using an air conditioner during this fluctuating weather. Improper temperature settings may lead to increased humidity issues inside the room. In cases where rainfall reduces the overall temperature, the AC can also be comfortably operated at around 28 degrees Celsius without any inconvenience.
Another useful tip for rainy days is to use a fan along with the air conditioner. Gentle air circulation helps distribute cool air evenly across the room, reducing the sticky and humid feeling more effectively. This combination improves airflow and ensures a more balanced indoor climate.
The monsoon season approaches, small adjustments in air conditioner usage can significantly improve comfort levels and help maintain a cool, dry, and pleasant indoor environment despite the changing weather outside.
