IIE DIGITAL DESK : March 21: Samsung has officially made its latest budget smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G, available for purchase in India starting today. The device, which was launched earlier this week, strengthens Samsung’s popular M-series lineup by offering a balance of performance, battery life, and affordability.

The smartphone is priced at Rs. 13,999 for the base variant featuring 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the higher 6GB RAM model is available at Rs. 15,499. Buyers can further benefit from bank offers of up to Rs. 1,500, effectively bringing the starting price down to Rs. 12,499. The handset is offered in two stylish colour options — Blitz Blue and Vibe Violet — and can be purchased through Samsung’s official website, Amazon, as well as select retail stores across the country.

Running on One UI 8 based on Android 16, the Galaxy M17e 5G promises long-term software support, including six major OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The phone features a 6.58-inch HD+ PLS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and an enhanced viewing experience.

The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM. It offers 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to a massive 2TB using a microSD card, making it suitable for users who require ample storage space.

The camera department, the smartphone is equipped with a dual rear camera setup, led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with autofocus and an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, it houses an 8-megapixel front camera.

The Galaxy M17e 5G supports a wide range of connectivity options including 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also includes multiple navigation systems such as GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS.
