IIE Digital Desk: Vivo has officially launched the Vivo S2 in India, bringing back its S-series smartphones after nearly seven years. The new mid-premium device arrives with a massive 7,050mAh battery, a MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo processor, and a curved AMOLED display, targeting users who want strong performance, capable cameras, and long-lasting battery life.

Priced from ₹39,999, the Vivo S2 will go on sale starting August 11 through Vivo's official website, Flipkart, Amazon, and select offline retail stores. Buyers can also take advantage of launch offers, including instant bank discounts and no-cost EMI options.

The smartphone features a 6.83-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. The display promises smooth scrolling, vivid colours, and improved visibility even in bright outdoor conditions. Despite packing one of the biggest batteries in its category, the phone maintains a slim and premium design.

Powering the Vivo S2 is the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB. The device runs OriginOS 6 based on Android and includes a range of AI-powered features aimed at enhancing productivity, photography, and the overall user experience.

On the camera front, the Vivo S2 sports a 50MP Sony IMX852 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), along with a depth sensor for portrait photography. For selfies and video calls, it offers a 32MP front camera. Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording, making the phone a compelling choice for content creators and mobile videographers.

A major highlight of the device is its large 7,050mAh battery, which Vivo says is designed to easily last through a full day of heavy use. When it's time to recharge, the phone supports 44W FlashCharge technology for faster charging.

The Vivo S2 also comes with several premium features, including an in-display fingerprint scanner, IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, stereo speakers, and modern connectivity options. These additions make it a strong contender in the upper mid-range smartphone segment.

With its premium curved display, powerful battery, capable camera system, and AI-driven software experience, the Vivo S2 enters a highly competitive market. It will compete with offerings from OnePlus, Nothing, Motorola, and iQOO as Vivo looks to revive its S-series and appeal to users seeking a stylish smartphone with dependable all-round performance.
