IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Malda, October 12: Tension spread across the Singhoil area under Babupur Gram Panchayat in Gazole block of Malda district after the body of a 22-year-old man, the son of a local BJP booth president, was found lying in front of his house on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Biplab Murmu. His family has alleged that he was murdered as part of a planned conspiracy, although the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear. Gazole police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Local sources, a woman spotted Biplab lying motionless in front of his house on Monday morning. She alerted others, following which members of his family rushed to the spot. They found the young man unresponsive and informed the police. Personnel from Gazole Police Station subsequently arrived at the scene and recovered the body.

The police have initiated the necessary legal procedures to send the body for a post-mortem examination. The report is expected to play a crucial role in establishing the cause of death and determining whether there was any criminal involvement. Additional Superintendent of Police of Malda district, Kunal Barnabas, also visited the spot as the investigation got underway.

Biplab’s father, Majhi Murmu, is the BJP booth president in the area. He has expressed suspicion that political rivalry or a possible relationship-related dispute could have played a role in his son’s death. However, neither possibility has been established so far, and the circumstances leading to the young man’s death remain under investigation.

The family has demanded an impartial and thorough investigation into the incident, along with strict punishment for anyone found responsible. Their allegation that Biplab may have been deliberately killed has added to the concern among local residents, although the police have yet to establish whether the death was the result of a murder or another cause.

Police sources said the exact cause of death would become clearer once the post-mortem report is available. The circumstances in which Biplab was found outside his house are also expected to form an important part of the inquiry.
