The minister directed officials to ensure that citizens do not face unnecessary harassment while completing Aadhaar-bank account linking formalities. He emphasized that public inconvenience must be minimized and administrative processes should be made smoother for beneficiaries of government welfare schemes.
The minister was initially in Barasat for work related to CAA-linked administrative issues when he noticed the heavy crowd at the post office. Seeing the large rush for Aadhaar linking under the Annapurna Bhandar scheme, he immediately intervened and visited the post office.
The post office, he discussed the situation with the Superintendent and instructed that necessary steps be taken to streamline the process. He reiterated that people should not be forced to endure long waiting hours or procedural difficulties while accessing essential government services.
The incident highlights the growing rush at public service centers in Barasat, especially for documentation and welfare-related verification work.
