Rupayan Pal Tops West Bengal HS 2025, Pays Tribute to Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor
IIE DIGITAL DESK : Bardhaman, May 7, 2025 — Rupayan Pal, a student of Burdwan CMS High School, has emerged as the topper of the West Bengal Higher Secondary (HS) Examination 2025, scoring an impressive 497 out of 500 marks, translating to a 99.4% aggregate . His achievement places him at the pinnacle among over 4.7 lakh students who appeared for the exam this year.
In a heartfelt statement following the announcement of the results, Rupayan expressed his gratitude to the Indian Armed Forces for their decisive action in "Operation Sindoor," which targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack that claimed 28 civilian lives . He remarked, "I am thankful to our soldiers for their bravery. Their actions ensure our safety and allow students like me to pursue our dreams without fear.
Rupayan's academic journey has been marked by consistent excellence. He secured the fifth position in the Madhyamik (Class 10) examinations and has now ascended to the top rank in the HS exams . Aspiring to become a doctor, he recently appeared for the NEET examination and is hopeful about securing admission to a prestigious medical college.
The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) reported an overall pass percentage of 90.79% this year. Notably, the Science stream achieved the highest pass rate at 99.46%, followed by Commerce at 97.52%, and Arts at 88.25% .
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her congratulations to all successful candidates, stating, "My dear students, who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination this year, I send you all my love and best wishes!
