Voting Awareness Mascot 'Chitra' Unveiled in Paschim Medinipur as Part of Election Campaign
IIE DIGITAL DESK : Paschim Medinipur, April 6: The district administration of Paschim Medinipur officially unveiled the election mascot ‘Chitra’ on Monday. Alongside the mascot, a theme song encouraging voter participation was also launched.
The inauguration was conducted by the District Election Officer as part of an ongoing initiative by the Election Commission to engage citizens in the electoral process. The campaign aims to raise awareness among voters and encourage active participation in voting.
Chief Electoral Officer Arindam Niyogi highlighted that each district in West Bengal will have its own unique mascot and theme song to promote electoral awareness. He noted that a series of outreach programs and awareness campaigns are being conducted continuously across all districts of the state to educate voters about the importance of their participation.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy by the Chief Electoral Officer’s office to ensure that citizens, especially first-time voters, are informed about voting procedures and the significance of exercising their democratic right. The mascot and theme song are expected to play a key role in engaging communities and making voter awareness campaigns more relatable and impactful.
