IIE DIGITAL DESK : Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav addressed the media in a detailed press conference along with his lawyer Bhaskar Upadhyay regarding the ongoing cheque bounce case filed against him. Speaking openly about the legal dispute, the actor alleged that the complainant was never interested in settlement but was determined to see him behind bars.

According to his legal counsel, industrialist Madhav Gopal Agarwal of M/s Murali Projects Pvt Ltd had invested Rs 5 crore in Rajpal’s 2010 directorial debut Ata Pata Laapata. The lawyer claimed that a high rate of interest was charged on the principal amount over time, which allegedly escalated the total liability to Rs 10.40 crore. He further stated that Rajpal had submitted a security amount in court in 2018 and was prepared to attach property papers to settle the matter. However, the complainant allegedly refused to accept both the security money and the property documentation.

The lawyer asserted that the complainant’s intention was not financial recovery but punishment. He said that if the security amount had been accepted in 2018, the case could have been resolved then. Instead, he alleged, the complainant insisted on legal action that led to the actor being jailed at that time. The defence team accused the complainant of spreading misinformation and attempting to damage Rajpal’s public image.

Rajpal Yadav also spoke emotionally about his personal and professional journey. He explained that during difficult times in the industry he has worked without fees for producers facing financial hardship. He mentioned that he adopted his village and contributed toward its development, highlighting that his intentions in launching a production house were to support newcomers from small towns and underprivileged backgrounds.

Rajpal expressed strong confidence about his professional commitments. He claimed that over the next seven years he has branding and project work worth approximately Rs 1200 crore lined up. He stated that he currently holds four agreements related to major projects, some valued at Rs 200 crore and others reportedly as high as Rs 2000 crore. He clarified that these figures include a combination of professional fees and equity shares in ventures. In addition, he mentioned that ten films are already in the pipeline.

The actor also spoke about receiving financial and emotional support from fans and well wishers. He said that contributions have come from various sections of society including children who donated savings from their piggy banks and individuals who transferred funds through social media platforms. Rajpal expressed gratitude for the sympathy and assistance but assured that he intends to return the money respectfully. He requested time and promised to repay every individual who extended financial help, though he admitted that he cannot repay the emotional support shown by countless admirers across the country.

Addressing the allegations made by Madhav Gopal Agarwal, Rajpal claimed that threats were issued to him demanding the full Rs 10.40 crore amount and that failure to comply would result in severe consequences. He emphasised that he never considered using false methods to escape the legal process and instead wants the court to hear his version fully and fairly.

The controversy surrounding the cheque bounce case continues, but Rajpal Yadav has made it clear that he intends to fight the matter legally while maintaining confidence in his professional future.
