IIE DIGITAL DESK : April 21: Riteish Deshmukh and his wife and co-star Genelia D'Souza were visibly moved and emotional at the grand trailer launch of their upcoming historical drama Raja Shivaji in Mumbai on Monday. The star-studded event saw the cast, crew and well-known film personalities come together as the highly anticipated trailer was unveiled amid heartfelt moments and personal tributes. 

During the event, Riteish, who directs and stars in the film as the legendary Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, choked up while speaking to the media about the long and challenging journey of bringing the project to life. He thanked his team for their unwavering support and acknowledged the years of hard work that went into making the historical epic, revealing that he had envisioned the film nearly a decade ago. Standing beside him, Genelia also became emotional and broke down on stage as she shared the moment with him. Veteran actor Sanjay Dutt was seen wiping tears as well during the heartfelt proceedings. 

Riteish expressed deep gratitude to key collaborators and friends, including Abhishek Bachchan, who he described as standing by him “like a brother,” underscoring the strong bonds that helped shape the film’s journey. The atmosphere at the trailer launch was rich with emotion, camaraderie and a sense of shared accomplishment among the cast, crew and supporters.
