Until further notice, the DGMA has instructed shipowners, ship managers, and Recruitment and Placement Service Licence (RPSL) agencies to avoid assigning Indian crew members to ships that are scheduled to pass through the strategically important waterway. This action will help protect Indian seafarers from increased danger amid deteriorating security conditions in the Persian Gulf and its waters.
