Another TMC Councillor Arrested; Biswajit Mandal Held This Time
IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Kolkata, June 4: Trinamool Congress (TMC) councillor has been arrested by police, this time identified as Biswajit Mandal. He is a councillor of Ward No. 114 under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
woman has accused Biswajit Mandal of molestation and issuing threats against her. Following these allegations, the three-time elected councillor was arrested by the police of Regent Park police station.
The complaint, the woman alleged that the TMC councillor misbehaved and molested her on two separate occasions—once in March 2024 and again on May 9 this year. She has also accused him of using abusive language and issuing threats.
Recently, the complainant lodged a formal complaint at Regent Park police station, after which police initiated action and arrested Biswajit Mandal in connection with the case.
