IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Kolkata, May 28: Reiterating a policy of zero tolerance against infiltration, Dilip Ghosh made a strong statement on Thursday morning while speaking to journalists. He said that in the past, foreigners were allegedly invited, provided government facilities, and even issued citizenship-related documents. However, he claimed that the present government has taken a firm decision that no foreign national will be allowed to receive any benefits or stay in the country illegally. He further expressed hope that those who have entered the country unlawfully will return to their own countries on their own and stop availing government welfare benefits. He also alleged that fake documents were created for illegal Bangladeshi migrants during the previous regime, and stated that all such individuals must now return.
The same interaction, Dilip Ghosh also spoke about traffic management during festivals. He said that everyone has the right to celebrate festivals, but it should not disrupt the daily lives of ordinary people. He added that the government has decided that any request for organising celebrations must be made to the police, and the police will determine the time and place for such events. Referring to Eid arrangements, he mentioned that Brigade Ground has been allocated as a large designated space for celebrations, and people should use such designated areas instead of organising events on public roads.
