IIE DIGITAL DESK; Kolkata, June 1 (HS): Chief Minister Shuvendu Adhikari has raised serious allegations of misinformation regarding the Annapurna Scheme and announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the matter.

Monday, he told reporters that false claims were being made about the Annapurna Scheme. Those making the allegations themselves came forward in various locations to fill out applications. Twenty officials have been sent to districts to monitor the work. He expressed hope that a large amount of money would be transferred by Wednesday.

The Chief Minister said that the government will provide citizens with 36,000 rupees per year and urged cooperation. Even when buying a 20-rupee item, one should verify. All eligible beneficiaries must receive the money. There is no need to rush. How can someone who is not a voter receive social assistance? The money belongs to the citizens, not any political party.

Trinamool Congress leaders have looted money from ‘Lakshmi’s Fund.’ He stated that no one will be spared and that an SIT has been formed for this purpose. He called the looters’ party affiliation evidence enough and emphasized that the matter will be dealt with according to the law. He advised BJP workers not to take the law into their own hands and to trust the government.

The Chief Minister said that 22 fake accounts have been identified from which men, rather than women, withdrew money from ‘Lakshmi’s Fund.’ He instructed that the pace of the investigation be accelerated. One account is linked to Rakibul Sheikh, 15 accounts are operated by Tuhina, and six accounts are under the name of Tarikul Rahman.
