She was also seen adopting a style similar to that of Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, wearing simple cotton sarees and ordinary sandals, projecting herself as a dedicated “Trinamool soldier.”

The party’s poor performance in the Assembly elections, Mamata Banerjee placed significant trust in the young leader and appointed her as the President of the Trinamool Youth Congress. However, following the severe setback of the party in the 2026 Assembly elections, political circles are now abuzz with speculation that Sayani Ghosh may be preparing to join a camp of dissident or defecting Trinamool MPs.
