The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall in Delhi and several other states over the coming days, bringing much-needed relief from the scorching temperatures. According to the latest weather outlook issued by the IMD, scattered heavy rainfall is likely across parts of Northeast India and southern regions of the country during the current week.
The weather department has predicted that Assam and Meghalaya are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall and gusty winds between June 3 and June 6. The adverse weather conditions are expected to affect several districts in the two northeastern states, with the possibility of strong winds and lightning activity during this period.
For eastern India, the IMD has stated that the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall until June 6. The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms and rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi until June 5. Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail in Rajasthan over the next several days, with thunderstorms and rain expected in various parts of the state.
Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh are likely to experience thunderstorms, rainfall, and gusty winds between June 2 and June 4. The weather department has advised people in the affected regions to remain cautious during periods of lightning and strong winds.
