IIE DIGITAL DESK : The Foundation Day of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended his greetings to party workers across the country and reiterated that “Nation First” remains the BJP’s guiding principle.

Shah conveyed his heartfelt wishes to all party members and supporters. He emphasized that the BJP is firmly committed to the resolve that “national interest is paramount.”

“The Bharatiya Janata Party was not merely formed as a political organization,” Shah said. “It was established as a sacred pledge dedicated to nation-building.” He noted that the party draws its ideological inspiration from nationalist leaders such as Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Deendayal Upadhyaya, whose vision and principles laid the foundation for the BJP’s growth.

Highlighting the party’s ideological journey, Shah said the BJP was built on the core objective of uplifting the most marginalized sections of society. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added, the government has successfully worked toward realizing the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” (Together with All, Development for All, Trust of All).

Shah further stated that the BJP has strengthened the roots of democracy while striving to free the country from what he termed as “appeasement politics.” He asserted that the party has consistently worked to institutionalize good governance and transparency at every level.

“Today, the BJP is not just a political party,” Shah said. “It has become a true reflection of the aspirations and dreams of 1.4 billion Indians.”

The Home Minister underlined the party’s efforts in key areas such as national security, border protection, internal security, economic development, and the revival of India’s civilizational and cultural heritage. According to him, fulfilling these commitments demonstrates the party’s unwavering resolve.

Reaffirming the BJP’s guiding philosophy, Shah stated: “Nation first, party second, self last.” He said this fundamental ideal inspires every BJP worker to dedicate themselves tirelessly to public service.

Shah also paid tribute to senior leaders and countless party workers who, he said, made immense sacrifices for the cause of national interest. Drawing a metaphorical comparison to the sage Dadhichi from Indian mythology, he said many individuals had selflessly contributed to strengthening the organization and transforming it into a formidable political force.

The BJP Foundation Day is observed annually on April 6, commemorating the party’s formation in 1980.
