IIE DIGITAL DESK :  New Delhi, May 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday handed over appointment letters to more than 51,000 newly recruited young men and women selected for jobs in various central government departments and organisations during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela. The appointment letters were distributed through video conferencing at 11 am as part of the Centre’s nationwide employment initiative.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh also joined the programme virtually and spoke about the impact of the Rozgar Mela on the government recruitment system. Addressing the event, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the Rozgar Mela has not only increased recruitment in government jobs but has also brought greater transparency to the appointment process. He stated that discipline regarding timelines and deadlines in recruitment has improved significantly, leading to greater trust among job aspirants.

The Union Minister further said that it has also been observed that the quality and merit of candidates appointed through the Rozgar Mela have improved considerably. According to him, the initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s commitment to prioritising employment generation and ensuring a transparent recruitment system across the country.

The Rozgar Mela has emerged as one of the central government’s major employment drives. Before Saturday’s 19th edition, nearly 12 lakh appointment letters had already been distributed through the previous 18 Rozgar Melas organised across India.

The 19th Rozgar Mela was conducted simultaneously at 47 locations across the country on Saturday. Newly appointed candidates from different parts of India will join several important ministries and departments of the Government of India, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and Department of Higher Education.

The large-scale recruitment programme is being viewed as a significant step towards strengthening public sector employment opportunities while ensuring faster and more transparent recruitment for deserving candidates throughout the nation.
