Prime Minister to Visit Odisha on Saturday, Will Launch and Lay Foundation Stones for a Series of Development Projects

IIE DIGITAL DESK ; New Delhi, June 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on Saturday (June 20) to participate in a series of important programmes aimed at promoting development and strengthening infrastructure in the state. President Droupadi Murmu will also accompany the Prime Minister during the visit, marking a significant occasion for Odisha.

The President and the Prime Minister will visit Pahadpur village in Mayurbhanj district. They are scheduled to offer prayers at Santali Jahera and Ho Jahera, reflecting respect for the rich tribal traditions and cultural heritage of the region. They will also visit a skill development centre and the Pahadpur School to review initiatives related to education and skill enhancement.

The President and the Prime Minister will attend a special programme at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district, organised to mark the second anniversary of the Odisha Government. On the occasion, they will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth more than ₹47,600 crore.

The projects cover a wide range of sectors, including power, industrial infrastructure, road connectivity, drinking water supply, healthcare, education, tourism, and irrigation. The initiatives are expected to contribute significantly to Odisha’s economic growth, improve public infrastructure, and enhance the quality of life for the people of the state.

The large-scale investment in these projects highlights the government’s focus on accelerating development in both urban and rural areas. The programmes are also expected to create new employment opportunities, strengthen connectivity, and promote sustainable growth across various sectors.
