IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Medinipur, June 3: West Bengal Governor R. N. Ravi arrived in Medinipur on Wednesday to attend the convocation ceremony of Vidyasagar University. Serving as the Chancellor of the university, he presided over the 23rd convocation held at the institution.

The Governor reached Vidyasagar University around 11 a.m. and formally participated in the academic ceremony, which was conducted at the university’s Vivekananda auditorium. The convocation marked an important academic event after a gap of two years.

The last convocation was held on November 7, 2023. No convocation ceremonies were conducted in 2024 and 2025 due to various administrative and procedural reasons. As a result, this year’s event gained added significance, bringing together graduating students, faculty members, and university officials after a long interval.

The resumption of the convocation ceremony was seen as an important milestone for the university, which had faced delays in holding its annual academic gatherings. The 23rd convocation formally recognized the achievements of students completing their academic programs across various disciplines.

The ceremony proceeded smoothly with participation from academic dignitaries and administrative representatives. The Governor, in his capacity as Chancellor, oversaw the proceedings and addressed the gathering during the event.

The convocation at Vidyasagar University reflects the institution’s continued academic progress and its efforts to restore regular ceremonial traditions after the disruption of previous years. :::
