Situation is out of control, says Dilip on fuel price hike

IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Kolkata, May 25: The continuous rise in petrol and diesel prices has once again triggered political reactions across the country. Commenting on the latest fuel price hike, Dilip Ghosh stated that the current situation has gone beyond control and that global circumstances are forcing the government to take difficult decisions regarding fuel pricing.

Monday morning in Kolkata, Dilip Ghosh said that people should remember the kind of global situation the world has been facing over the last three to four years. Referring to the international fuel crisis, he claimed that in some countries petrol and diesel are not available at all, yet the Prime Minister has managed to provide relief to the people of India for a long period despite challenging conditions.

The recent increase in fuel prices, Dilip Ghosh said that the situation has now reached such a critical stage that a certain amount of price hike has become unavoidable. According to him, only a minimal increase has been implemented considering the seriousness of the crisis. He further explained that the supply and pricing of petrol, gas and diesel are not entirely under the control of the government and are heavily influenced by global market trends and international developments.

The senior leader stated that the country is being compelled to move in accordance with worldwide economic and fuel market conditions. He added that the present circumstances are not completely within the government’s control and emphasized that international factors continue to affect the prices of petroleum products in India. Dilip Ghosh also assured that once the global situation improves, providing relief to the common people would once again become the government’s top priority.

Dilip Ghosh also launched a sharp attack on Mamata Banerjee and the ruling All India Trinamool Congress leadership in West Bengal. Criticising the Chief Minister, he claimed that Mamata Banerjee is currently in such a situation that she no longer has the courage to face the public directly. According to him, that is why she is being forced to communicate through Facebook Live sessions and recorded messages instead of interacting with people face-to-face.

He further remarked that Mamata Banerjee should come forward and speak directly to the public because, according to him, she has lost her authority and public confidence. The comments have added fresh political tension amid the ongoing debate over rising fuel prices and inflation, which continue to affect citizens across the country.

The latest increase in petrol and diesel prices has already sparked concern among middle-class families, transport operators and daily commuters, with many fearing that the rising fuel costs may further push up the prices of essential commodities and services in the coming weeks.
