BJP Worker Killed in Bagnan, Howrah; Three Others Injured
IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Howrah, June 18: The political clash turned violent in Bagnan of Howrah district amid rising political tension. In a clash between Trinamool Congress and BJP workers, one BJP worker was killed and three others were injured.
The incident took place late on Wednesday night in Santoshpur under Bagnan. Police said the deceased has been identified as Prashanta De (39). He was a resident of Bantul village.
Prashanta was critically injured during the clash around 1 am. Three other injured persons have been admitted to Bagnan Rural Hospital. Prashanta, a BJP worker, later succumbed to his injuries.
The incident, senior police officials including the Howrah Rural District Superintendent of Police rushed to the spot. A large police force has been deployed in the area. Police have also stated that a search operation is underway to trace those involved in the clash.
