“Seven Turtles Recovered from a Bag in Kalna, Curiosity Among Locals”
IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Kalna, June 16: Kalna of Purba Bardhaman district, seven turtles were recovered from a bag on Tuesday morning, creating curiosity among local residents. The incident took place at Peyarinagar in Kalna, where the discovery was made early in the day.
Local residents said that near Peyarinagar ghat there is a Toto stand. On Tuesday morning, Toto drivers Akash Sheikh, Jaber Sheikh, and Biplab Sheikh noticed a bag lying unattended. When they checked the bag, they found seven small turtles inside.
It is still unclear how, where, or by whom the turtles were placed inside the bag. The matter is currently under investigation. After the discovery, the local police were informed about the incident.
Police have taken custody of the turtles and are making arrangements to release them in a safe natural habitat. The recovery of so many turtles together has sparked curiosity among locals, and the incident has become a topic of discussion in the area.
