IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Gorumara, June 12: The Dooars region, West Bengal Panchayat Minister Dilip Ghosh, along with his wife, enjoyed the scenic beauty and rich biodiversity of Gorumara National Park and Chapramari Forest. On Friday morning, the minister participated in a jungle safari on elephant back, exploring different parts of the forest and witnessing wildlife in their natural habitat.

Reports suggest that the minister stayed overnight at the Chapramari forest bungalow during his visit. Early in the morning, he was seen taking a walk along forest trails, followed by a visit to a local tea stall where he interacted informally with residents over a cup of tea, engaging in conversations with locals about the region.

Later, he reached the Gachhbari area near Gorumara National Park, where he and his wife participated in an elephant-back jungle safari arranged by the forest department. They were accompanied by Puna Bhengra, the BJP MLA from the Nagrakata Assembly constituency.

The safari, they observed wildlife in their natural surroundings at close range. The minister was also seen feeding bananas to elephants and taking photographs with them, spending time in close interaction with the animals. The forest department also arranged a ceremonial ritual involving the elephants during the visit.

Forest officials were present throughout the programme. The visit is being seen as a positive initiative to promote tourism and raise awareness about wildlife conservation and the natural beauty of the Dooars region, which continues to attract tourists and nature enthusiasts.
