Long queues were witnessed since early morning outside registration centres, reflecting the strong religious fervour and eagerness among pilgrims to participate in the sacred journey. Authorities have set up multiple token and registration centres along the banks of the Tawi River in Jammu, where district administration officials have ensured tight security arrangements for the safety of the pilgrims.
Officials have stated that the first batch of pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra will depart from the Jammu base camp on July 2. The main pilgrimage will begin on July 3 from the Baltal and Pahalgam base camps, marking the official commencement of the annual journey to the holy cave shrine.
Security forces, along with local administration teams, have been deployed across key locations to manage crowd movement and ensure a smooth registration process. Medical facilities, transport arrangements, and emergency support systems have also been put in place for the convenience of the devotees.
Many pilgrims expressed happiness and satisfaction over the smooth arrangements. One of the devotees, Anil Kumar, who is part of the first batch of pilgrims, said that this is his second visit to the pilgrimage. He noted that the entire process has been well-organised and expressed hope of having a smooth and peaceful darshan as part of the first group.
The registration process now underway, authorities expect a large turnout of devotees in the coming days as preparations intensify for the annual pilgrimage, which holds deep spiritual significance for thousands of followers across the country.
